Knazbat Fiddletop
Knazbat is a gnome sorcerer in Eitea who attempted to store his mana surges for later use by using a combination of directed meditation and magical contraptions He was somewhat successful, able to stop a mana surge from occurring immediately after casting a spell, but it was quite taxing. He managed to store the mana in a bank of parallel wired crystals for a short amount of time before firing it off at will. The expelled mana burst could be coaxed into a specific school of magic (i.e. abjuration, or evocation depending on what was needed), but a specific spell could not be chosen by Knazbat.
Knazbat is an elderly gnome now, but still enjoys building helpful magical devices. He did not continue to work on the wild magic battery as it wasn’t getting anywhere, and he didn’t use magic in combat or high tension scenarios enough to warrant it.
Knazbat runs a shop and lab in Eitea called Knazbat’s Kits and Kaboodles, and he regularly takes apprentices and teaches people the basics of artificing (and sometimes more complex things) for free simply because he enjoys it. He is decently well known in town.
Knazbat is a 7th level artificer. He would be willing to give Telm his Surge Belt just for the cost of parts (350 GP) if she interacts with him and reveals that she is a wild magic sorcerer.
- Knazbat’s Surge Belt: If a wild magic surge occurs from casting a spell or using Tides of Chaos, it can be suppressed with a successful Con save (10 + level of last spell cast, or 10 + proficiency modifier if from Tides of Chaos) a number of times = to proficiency modifier per day. The surge instead occurs in 1d4 turns. The caster knows when the surge will occur and can plan
