The fate of Fantasy Earth, and the wider universe
the lore is that the earthlings became numerous and or powerful enough to leave the homeworld in search of better things. Or to create their own paradises, like Cytgard. Much easier when you can teleport and fabricate and all that. Most of them failed to find a better place than fantasy earth, and most of the other Rings and other space habitats either collapsed on themselves or were destroyed/consumed by the Thoon (the mindflayer type of psiosic aliens that consume the brains of sentient creatures. Very horrible. Cytgard is specifically well defended against Thoon. Or so we think…) For example, Fantasy Mars was colonized, experienced the rise and fall of great empires, and then fell into radio silence after a particularly nasty archmage of the Silverlight line unleashed a particularly nasty bioweapon.
Most of those that left fantasy earth all those tens (or hundreds?) of thousands of years ago lost contact with the homeworld. Most don’t know where it was, or what it was like, or even that it existed. In fact, some of those in the diaspora don’t even know that they’re not alone in the universe!
Cytgard kept a relatively high level of technological and magical expertise, in large part due to strong external defenses, a very rigorous self worldwide governing system (courtesy of the Outsiders), a diverse solar pantheon, and good planning from the get-go. Imagine what a paradise it would be if the Ring was completed!
Other less lucky places like what the party saw in Meats and other Treats (what some call the Abyssal Plain) still kick around, but they’re awful places to live. Even the demons and other monsters there want to get the hell out by invading other worlds
Then there are worlds ravaged by other magical or alien entities like Tiamat. Or Zuggtmoy. Or other demigod to god level creatures.
This is not to say that there aren’t other vibrant enclaves of civilization out there in the universe! Maybe even some space faring ones! But the denizens of Cytgard don’t have much contact with the outside universe beyond their little hermetically sealed little enclosure. At least not that the party knows of
