Etobicoke Vale

New GM material

This page expands a place shown on World Maps. Geography and previously recorded events are kept where noted; the new characters, sites, and hooks are proposals until used in play.

Etobicoke Vale sits on the thin green strip beneath the northern snowfields, west of Northern Vista. Snowmelt feeds a chain of narrow fields and ponds. Travelers use the vale as a gentler approach to the Edge; local growers supply hardy food and living packing material to north-route crews. When aurora light colors the valley, even ordinary frost looks metallic.

People. Yara Fen, a halfling seed keeper, speaks in practical questions and lends food before money. She wants to know why sealed seed jars are sprouting months early. Deme Sorl, a half-elf route guide, collects discarded survey markers and distrusts the newest map revisions; she needs witnesses willing to retrace a disputed trail.

Places and play. The Melt Houses are communal greenhouses warmed by redirected runoff. The Long Weir has measurement marks older than the town charter. A shipment of sprouting seeds was tagged for a farm that no local has heard of, but the destination appears on an obsolete map of the vale.
