Eshea Caldera *
An medium sized arcology built on the edge of a caldera in a warm weathered latitude of the Eastern part of the Acidalia region. It is built in the shape of an arc, looking inward to the centre of the caldera like an ampitheatre (Paolo Soleri’s Lean Linear Arterial Arcology model). Many windmills and turbines dot the length of the arcology, making use of the sea breezes that blow by. Water is pumped up to the highest level of the city from below, and flows down aqueduct channels and stepped waterfalls. The channels are used both for gathering drinking water irrigation of small farming plots, as well as for transporting goods up and down stream. It is in very close proximity to the Thermistor Isle, a floating island that circles the thermistor sea, and trades with settlements that it passes using dirigibles (blimps with propulsion). Eshea is a popular layover location for both airship traders and sea ship traders because of its mild climate and the fair seas within the caldera.
The main industries of Eshea include fishing and aquatic farming. The region is blessed by the prescence of Livitating Lakes - semispherical masses of water that levitate above the land and sea, home to aquatic life that can easily be harvested from and farmed. There is also a small magic item cottage industry in Eshea; locals create charming or mildly useful magical items (mostly of common rarity) and sell them to traders passing through.
Eshea is home to the religious sect/cult known as the Church of Elemental Will which resides in the East Ford ward. The church owns several stacks of buildings in which their sects live and work, as well as their obelisk, which is a several story high intricately carved crystal monolith.
